Today is Friday, January 16th, 2015 and I am back to this blog with my 2nd Dollar Tree haul. I got a lot of stuff this time, and I actually bought snacks. I said I wasn’t going to buy snacks at the Dollar Tree in my last haul post because I didn’t feel like they would be of any value, but I decided to buy a few things to see how long they would last and depending on taste would I buy them again.
So I’m going to start with the food items I bought first.
Bite size tortilla chips – 8.5 ounces. I thought that was ok for just a dollar.
9.5 oz bag of pretzels. I love pretzels, and that’s actually a lot of them for a dollar.
11 oz bag of animal crackers. That’s kinda of a big bag for just a dollar, and who doesn’t like animal crackers? I kinda feel like this was a good deal. Just hope they taste good.
10 oz bag of teddy bear cookies. Can’t wait to try these.
This is a 10 pack of Minees cookies. Never heard of them, but it has five different flavors which are chocolate cream, banana creme, chocolate vanilla cream, vanilla vanilla cream, and strawberry cream. I had to grab them for a try.
Three pack of chicken noodle cups. These are always ok for when you want a small hot quick nibble.
14 oz jar of Campbell’s salsa. I didn’t even know that brand made salsa, and I love sals. It was only a dollar and I figured it might be good since it is a name brand product, and I got it to go with my tortilla chips. Can’t wait to try it and see if tastes good.
17 oz kosher spears pickles. I already tasted these before I started this blog post so I can say that for only a dollar, these are not bad. Certainly not the best pickles I’ve had, but I won’t complain and would probably buy again unless I find a better deal elsewhere… however I don’t eat pickles often so not a big deal one way or the other to me.
Apparently generic brand 9 oz nacho cheese dip. Something else to try with my tortilla chips.
8 oz container of ranch crackers. I like that this can double as a storage container once used.
8 oz container of cheddar cheese crackers.
10 oz coconut bar cookies.
10 oz lemon bar cookies.
An assortment of flower and vegetable seeds. Most of them are for my brother which includes sunflowers, watermelon, tomatoes, and pumpkins, and then I got a pack of zinnia flower seeds for myself.
I bought another pack of these 4 count 7 inch round baking pans. I thought I was going to just stock up on 5 or 6 of these on this trip, but I decided that’s just overkill, so got one.
36 count wooden clothes pins. These will be used to hold all those snack bags closed that I got.
6 pack of heart shaped krazy straws. I bought these because I have a favorite bottle I re-use all the time from some drink I bought a long time ago and can never find the perfect straw to use with it.
As it turns out this straw is a little better than the bendy straws I’ve been using. I like how it clips to the neck of the bottle, but it doesn’t quite reach the bottom, and while it may be a nit picky thing, that annoys me. I’m sure I will still enjoy using the straw(s) until I can find one that is a little longer.
3 pack of ball point pens. I didn’t buy these because I need them for writing. I bought them because I saw a tutorial online somewhere on how to build a stylus using the s-pen that came with my Samsung Galaxy Note 2. I’m hoping these will work so that I can make my stylus more comfortable to hold when I am working on my art.
I got 2 solar lights to put out in my yard this summer. I’m gonna wait until spring though to put them out and also buy a few more over the next few pay days. I would like to get about 20 or more put outside this year.
3 liter bottle of generic brand soda. That is a big ass bottle of soda. I bought this because I’m a big fan of Mountain Dew soda and I was curious to see how this might taste in comparison.
This is the last item I bought. It’s a flower suncatcher that you paint. It comes with 4 colors of paint and a paint brush. I just thought it would be fun to paint and hang in a window somewhere, since my current focus in art is with flowers.
UPDATE – 2015-01-17- SA @ 11:22 a.m. I thought I’d sit down with my coffee this morning and paint this up, however the paint is completely dry. This was a waist of money. I don’t recommend buying this. I threw it straight in the trash.
So I think I did pretty good on this trip. I got 28 items total for $24.33 and I think I may have enough snacks to last a whole week, provided they have good flavor… I hope.
My next trip to the Dollar Tree is going to be around the 29th or 30th of this month (January), so follow my blog if you want to see what I haul home then from the Dollar Tree.
